FLIGHT FROM PORT OF SPAIN TO NEW YORK (JFK) ON AUGUST 18TH, 2020
The U.S. Embassy Port of Spain has been advised of a flight with commercial carrier JetBlue from Port of Spain to New York, John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Tuesday, August 18th for the purpose of repatriating U.S. citizens. We urge U.S. citizens (and U.S. Legal Permanent Residents) wishing to travel to the U.S. to visit the airline’s website to book a seat – www.jetblue.com. The website is the quickest way to ensure you can book a seat. JetBlue informs that the tickets will be going on sale August 13/14. Please monitor www.jetblue.com.
The U.S. Embassy cannot book tickets or hotel reservations on behalf of a passenger. Baggage and pet arrangements must be coordinated directly with the airline when purchasing tickets. Onward travel options from New York are the responsibility of the traveler and should be made as soon as possible with available commercial airlines operating out of JFK airport.
The U.S. Embassy does not know when regularly scheduled commercial flights to the United States will resume. Currently, there are no other scheduled flights to the United States or other countries. U.S. citizens who choose not to take this flight should be prepared to remain in Trinidad and Tobago until commercial air travel resumes.
Travelers are reminded that you must have valid travel documents to board this flight. Please check that you have a valid U.S. passport or valid foreign passport and U.S. Legal Permanent Resident card (green card). If you need assistance with emergency documentation please email the embassy immediately at [email protected].
Note that if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, coughing, sneezing or shortness of breath you will not be allowed to board the flight. Please do not come to the airport if you have any of these symptoms.
Please do *not* contact the U.S. Embassy to make a flight reservation.
Please continue to monitor the U.S. Embassy website and U.S. Embassy Port of Spain COVID-19 Information page for updated information.
