A press release from Republic Bank stated that even though the Central Bank advised that only new polymer banknotes will be accepted from January 1st the bank recognises that some commercial customers may still have old notes in their possession on December 31st.
Therefore to minimize any stress during this busy period, the Bank advises that it will redeem for value old cotton notes from our existing clients till January 31, 2022. Clients can deposit these notes through any of the Bank’s traditional channels – branch, ATM and/or night safe. This accommodation will only be available to banking customers of Republic Bank
