A 44-year-old Rio Claro was arrested and charged with the breach of a protection order on Sunday 4th October 2020.

According to official police reports, at about 5:45pm yesterday, PC Bickaroo and PC Mohamed, both attached to the Emergency Response Patrol Unit (ERP) were on mobile patrol when they received and responded to a call from E999 regarding a domestic violence incident at Esperanz Village, San Fernando.

While on the way to the location, the officers communicated with a woman who alleged that a male relative came to her home and was behaving violently. The victim further reported that she had a protection order against the suspect.

The officers arrived around 5.55 pm and met the suspect, RYAN LALL, who appeared to be highly intoxicated and was acting violently. He reportedly slammed a stone and debris into the gateway of the home.

The officers attempted to pacify the suspect, but he began to attack them, as well as members of his family. The TTPS reports that when the suspect rushed towards PC Mohamed with a piece of wood, the officer drew his service Taser and called upon Lall to drop the wood. The suspect ignored the officer’s instructions, continued to advance.

The officer used the Taser on Lall to stop him and subdue him.

The suspect was then taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he had to be physically restrained and was administered a sedative.

Lall was then taken to the San Fernando Police Station and was charged with the breach of a protection order.
