Romanian-made assault rifle found in Chaguanas

Police recovered a Romanian-made assault rifle in Felicity yesterday, after an anonymous report was made to the Chaguanas Criminal Investigative Division (CID).

Official police reports reveal that the informant reported observing a dark-coloured sack resembling a gun case at Connector Road, around 9:00pm.

Ag. CPL Baboolal, PC Baptise and PC Flemming, of the Chaguanas CID proceeded to the location where they discovered the sack, as described by the informant.

Further examination of the site revealed one Romanian-made assault rifle with two magazines and 15 rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition.

Inquiries are continuing.
