Kerron Lamothe, 21, of Damarie Hill, Guaico, Sangre Grande, was arrested yesterday and later charged for possession of a firearm.
According to police reports, officers from the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) received information while on patrol in Sangre Grande.
They proceeded to 3-1/2 Mile Mark, Guaico/Tamana Road, Cunaripo, where they observed a man standing at the side of the roadway with a brown bag.
He was searched and one silver and black .22 calibre pistol, fitted with one magazine was allegedly found.
He was arrested and taken to the Sangre Grande Police Station where he was later charged for the offence by PC Harrinanan. Officers present at the scene included PCs Nicome, Maraj, Toussaint, Bernard and Checkly.
