A 27-year-old man from Sangre Grande was sentenced to three years of hard labour when he appeared before the Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with possession of a homemade shotgun and ammunition. Jameel Snaggs, alias ‘HOMES’, of Sycamore Drive, Ojoe Road, was handed the sentence when he appeared before Magistrate Cheron Raphael.
According to police reports, on August 9th, officers executed a search warrant at Jameel’s home. During the search, officers found a homemade shotgun along with six rounds of .45 ammunition, two rounds of 5.56 ammunition, one round of .38 ammunition, and one 12-gauge cartridge. He was arrested and charged by PC Hamilton, of the Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) Area East.
