Sangre Grande police hold men on warrants spanning over 20 years

Three people wanted by the police for 20-plus years on outstanding warrants were arrested in a police exercise conducted in the Sangre Grande district Saturday.

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Ryan Khan supervised by Insp Sankar and included Pcs Otley, Cortez, Browne, WPCs Sankar and Modeste of the Warrant Section and members of the Task Force, Sangre Grande Police Station during the hours 3 am and ended at 8 am.

During which time a 46-year-old man of Turure who was evading court matters at the High Court for 22 years, a 54-year-old teacher of Arima Secondary School wanted for assault and beating his wife, a prison officer and her child and 54-year-old man of Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande who was eluding the police on outstanding warrants for 20-years were all picked up in the exercise.

They are all expected to appear before a Magistrate virtually on Monday.
