Service interruption in parts of North & Central Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) is advising customers served by the Valsayn Highlift Station of the interruption in their pipe borne supply today, Tuesday 15th February 2022 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This has become necessary in order to facilitate emergency repairs to a defective highlift pump at the facility.

Customers in parts of Central Trinidad served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant may experience a disruption in their normal pipe-borne water supply from 8:00 a.m. today Tuesday 15th February, to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday 16th February 2022. This is in order to carry out major emergency repair works to the pump at Freeport Well #17. Details follow in this press release from WASA:

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers served by the Valsayn Highlift Station that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne supply today, Tuesday 15th February 2022 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. This has become necessary in order to facilitate emergency repairs to a defective highlift pump at the facility.

Areas affected include communities North of the Eastern Main Road from St.

Joseph to Tunapuna, inclusive of Curepe and St. Augustine.

Customers in parts of Central Trinidad served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant are also advised that they may experience a disruption in their normal pipe borne water supply from 8:00 a.m. today Tuesday 15th February, to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday 16th February 2022. This is in order to carry out major emergency repair works to the pump at Freeport Well #17.

Areas affected include: Gran Couva, Mayo, Pepper Village, Calcutta 2 & 3, Chickland Village, Christian Village, Siewdass Road, Central Park, Preysal and environs.

The Authority further advises that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas following the completion of repairs at these facilities.
