Seven persons were arrested and quantities of ammunition and marijuana found by officers of the St. Joseph Criminal Investigations Department during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Northern Division yesterday. Officers conducted the exercise between 3:00am and 8:55am, on Sunday 24th May 2020, during which they executed several search warrants in the Division. The searches resulted in 125 rounds of 5.56 ammunition along with a component part for an AR-15 rifle being found in an open field at North Bank Road, Piarco and 200 grammes of marijuana being found in the St. Joseph district. Officers also arrested seven persons from the Piarco and St. Joseph districts for varying offences. Investigations are ongoing.
