Six elderly men with comorbidities are among 11 people who died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll up to 1,566. According to the ministrys’ release, there were also two elderly females, two middle-aged females and one middle-aged male with comorbidities to succumb to the disease. The ministry also confirmed 152 additional cases of COVID-19 from samples collected between October 8 and 11 bringing the total number of infected people in the country to 52,999.
Despite the new cases, those remaining active decreased slightly to 4,230 after 212 were deemed to have recovered. The ministry released 186 people from home self-isolation as recovered community cases while 26 people were discharged from public health facilities. The country also recorded a mileston as it crossed 600,000 who received a vaccine after 600,766 people received a first dose up to yesterday 4 pm.
Of these, 552,982 completed their vaccination regime.
