A six-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man were shot and wounded while overnighting at a friend’s house in Morvant. Police were told that at about 1.45 am on Monday the occupants of the house were awoken by a loud noise.
The older man saw a masked man in the house armed with a firearm and attempted to fight the intruder. However, the gun went off and he was shot in the right foot.The suspect fired another shot at the older man but ended up shooting the six-year-old who had just run out of a bedroom.
The boy was shot in the left foot. Both victims were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where they were treated. The 41-year-old was discharged but the boy remains warded.
