There have been no reported issues, thus far, in the voting process to select a councillor for the Cunupia district, today.
At the three polling stations— the Cunupia High School, the Cunupia Primary School and the Jerningham Junction Primary School—voters turned out as early as 6 am.
PNM candidate, Rasheed Patos Ali, arrived at the Jerningham Junction Primary School around 8 am to cast his vote.
Ali told Guardian Media afterwards that the process was smooth and incident free.

UNC candidate Richard Sukdeo arrived around 9 am at the Cunupia High School to cast his vote.
Sukdeo told Guardian Media he is confident of a win.
He said he is eager to begin serving the constituents who have been without representation since former councillor Vandana Mohit was elected as the Member of Parliament for Chaguanas East, leaving her post at the Chaguanas Borough Corporation vacant.
