Several specialised courts have combined resources and joined in the national effort to ensure vulnerable citizens in this country, receive critical help during the current COVID-19 crisis.

According to a news release from the Industrial Court, the collaborating legal entities include: the President, Vice President and Members of the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago; and the Chairmen and Members of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal, the Environmental Commission and the Tax Appeal Board.

The release states that the collaboration has resulted in 175 food hampers being donated for distribution to the most vulnerable families. The hampers consist of 49 essential grocery items and 126 bags of fresh produce grown by local farmers.

Former lay assessor at the Equal Opportunity Tribunal and chairman of the Archdiocese’s Ministry for Migrants and Refugees, Ms. Leela Ramdeen, will coordinate the distribution of the hampers.
