One man is currently warded at hospital and another is in police custody, following an altercation in the San Juan district yesterday.

The victim, a 46-year-old man, told police that on he was driving into Laventille Road in his white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle, when he almost collided with a blue Toyota Corolla He said he and the driver of the other vehicle got into a heated argument before they drove off in different directions.

On Monday, the victim and the man got into another argument during which the victim drew a short cutlass from his vehicle and dealt the man several blows about his body. The man drew a knife and dealt the victim several stabs about the body before returning to his vehicle and driving away.

The victim was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he remains warded in a stable but critical condition.

The suspect of Santa Cruz subsequently surrendered to officers of the San Juan Police Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
