The son of veteran calypsonian, Michael “Sugar Aloes” Osuna was shot dead on the street in broad daylight Friday, just steps from his apartment building.

Ancil Blackman, 39, was killed about 5:30 pm outside the Miller Evangelical Christian Union Church, near his home between Bedford and Rogers avenues in Crown Heights, said police.

Relatives said Blackman was shot on his way home from work. Rachel Charles, an in-law, said Blackman’s relatives mistook the gunshots for fireworks.

“We were laughing at the firecrackers — but then we got a call that Ancil had been shot,” said Charles.

A police source at the scene said Blackman was shot twice, once in the neck and once in the back.
