One man has been arrested a man for larceny of a motor vehicle, by police officers attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Fort Chacon Base.

Official police reports are that Monday 20th April 2020, officers PC Alexander and PC Thompson were on mobile patrol duty at Sylbert Trace in the Laventille district, when they received a report from the officers of the Transit Police Unit of a suspected Stolen Motor Vehicle being driven by the suspect –a purple Nissan Cefiro, with registration PBE 8504.

The suspect identified himself to police as a self- employed mechanic who was performing a test drive on the vehicle. The driver and the vehicle were escorted to the Transit Police Base where it was examined by PC Gill of the Stolen Vehicles’ Unit, who confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.

The vehicle was stolen on Monday 2nd March 2020, from Arima Old Road. When it was stolen, the vehicle was green in colour, with registration number PBC 5992.

Additional checks revealed that the Chassis number had been tampered with.

Investigations continue.
