One man was arrested after being seen by police officers discarding a firearm in nearby bushes.
According to police reports, acting on intelligence, officers went to Building 6, Maloney Gardens, where they observed the suspect, take an object resembling a firearm from his waist and throw it in nearby bushes.

The officers detained the suspect and seized a Browning 9mm pistol which contained one magazine and 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition. He was arrested and conveyed to the Maloney Police Station.

The exercise was spearheaded by ACP North-East and supervised by Supt Rampath and Sgt Guelmo along with officers of the Maloney Crime Patrol. Inquiries are ongoing.
