Suspects assisting police with investigation into robberies

Two suspects are currently assisting police with their investigations into a series of robberies in Tobago in recent weeks. The men, a 35-year-old of Mango Alley, Trou Macaque Road, Laventille, and a 24-year-old of Old St. Joseph Road, Laventille, were arrested during an Operation Strikeback exercise executed last night.

The arrest comes as detectives attached to the Tobago Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID) were tracking two cell phones which were reported stolen on March 6th from two victims in Tobago.

Tobago CID officers journeyed to Trinidad, and with the assistance of the Port-of-Spain Divisional Task Force, located the suspects who were both found in possession of the stolen cell phones on March 16th.

The duo is currently being questioned by Tobago CID personnel at the Besson Street Police Station and are expected to be charged later this week. The investigation is being headed by Sgt. Wilson and PC Mc Cain of the Tobago CID.
