The children of the pre-school principal who was fatally stabbed yesterday, as well as those of her attacker, will receive counselling support from school social workers and the Student Support Services Division.
In addition, counselling will be provided—upon request—to the children attending the pre-school where the vicious attack occurred.
Gunmen climbed onto rooftops of the Plannings at Upper and Lower Nelson Street and were firing off "warning/message" gunshots at each other on Wednesday morning, when five stray bullets ended up penetrating a classroom at the South East Port of Spain Secondary School.
One of the bullets ricocheted and grazed a female teacher on the hand, while another bullet went just over the head of a pupil while he was sitting his end of term examination. The bullet missed his head by mere centimetres.

In a personal message in observance of Universal Children’s Day 2019, the minister says hopes to see one day that every child can receive a quality education at any school in this country.
The minister also makes an appeal for all hands on deck, to help the ministry achieve this goal.

The funeral service for the long-serving Secretary-General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha, Satnarayan Maharaj, took place today.
With hundreds in attendance, the service started just after his body arrived at Maha Sabha headquarters in St Augustine at 8.27 am on Tuesday.
As his body was brought in, pundits and the congregation sang the theme song of the Maha Sabha, Kaho Ek Baar.

The funeral service for Vaughn “Sandman” Mieres and his wife Alika “Letty” Dehere can not be held at the Las Cuevas Government Primary School, Minister of Education Anthony Garcia confirmed on Wednesday.
On Tuesday a digital flyer began circulating on social media announcing the funeral service for Mieres and his wife would be held at the school on Friday.
The Minister explained that no funeral have ever been held in schools around the country, and this service would not be the one to set a precedent.
