A 43-year-old man was shot dead in Beetham Gardens on Tuesday.
He has been identified as Garvin Douglas.
A close relative discovered his body at his home along 23 Street, Beetham Gardens, with multiple gunshot injuries.
Residents say they had heard several gunshots earlier in the day but saw nothing extraordinary.
Police are continuing investigations.

The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has initiated an investigation into reports of unbearable odours coming from Angostura Limited.
This follows a protest by residents of Beetham today at the Angostura compound.
The EMA says it was notified of the concerns of the protesting residents related to the odours, said to be emanating from the drainage system in the vicinity of Angostura Ltd.’s facilities.
Police are investigating the shooting death of a Belmont man in Beetham this morning.
The man has been identified as 23-year-old Kendall Alexander.
The circumstances that led to the shooting are still unclear.
Residents of 18th Street, Beetham Gardens say they heard several loud explosions around 6.30 this morning.
They later found the bullet-riddled body of Alexander lying at the side of the road.
Police are still on the scene and we'll provide an update when we get more.
Police are investigating the death of a man at the Beetham Landfill, after being pinned under a garbage truck.
The incident happened just after 6am today.
According to reports, the man was an attendant employed by M&N Contractors Limited, who was attending to his vehicle when the vehicle fell on him.
Doctors at the Port of Spain General Hospital will on Friday perform corrective surgery on the right arm of police constable Adrian Moreno, who was injured along with a woman police officer while on inquiries in Hell Yard, Beetham Gardens on August 3rd, a statement from the Police Service says.
The statement says the doctors had been monitoring the officer’s recovery before taking the decision to perform surgery which had been delayed.
Both PC Moreno and WPC Rachel George were taken to the Port of Spain General following the shooting incident.
The female police officer who was shot in Hell Yard, Beetham Thursday night, has been discharged from hospital.
Confirmation of the officer's discharge came via a media statement from the Police Service:
"The woman police officer, who was shot along with a male officer, while involved in an anti-crime exercise in Hell Yard, Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain, on Thursday 4th August, 2016, was earlier today discharged from the Port of Spain General Hospital.
Police say the two officers who were shot in the Beetham, had gone to search for suspects in the larceny American Stores in St James.
Both officers have been warded in stable condition at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.

"Two police officers sustained non-life threatening injuries after being struck by bullets while involved in an anti-crime exercise organised by the Western Division, in Hell Yard, Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain, at around 7:20p:m. this evening, Thursday 4th August,2016.
Two police officers have been shot in an area called Hell Yard in the Beetham.
The shootings occurred around 7.20 Thursday evening.
Police say the officers were on an exercise when the shooting occurred.
A male officer identified only as Moreno was shot in his head while a female officer identified as WPC George has been shot in her foot.
Police have recovered a stolen car being stripped in the Beetham, a statement from the Police Service says.
The vehicle was found on Wednesday afternoon. Police have also seized marijuana and cocaine in another operation.
