Bomb threat shuts down San Fernando courts

A bomb threat shut down the building housing all three courts in San Fernando this morning.

Te Magistrates Court, the High Court and the Traffic Court were all temporarily evacuated.

Operations resumed after a suspicios object outside the court, was removed.

Marabella North Secondary evacuated after bomb threat

Another school has been shut down as a result of a bomb threat.

The Marabella North Secondary School has been evacuated after school officials say someone called the office and indicated there was a bomb at the facility, before reciting a religious prayer.

Police and fire officials currently at the scene.

All students have been sent home.

However, Form Three students have been kept on the premises.

We are told they are scheduled to write an assessment exam today.

T&T national jailed in St Maarten following bomb-threats that shut down airport

A Trinidad-born man has been sentenced to 12 months in prison in St Maarten, after being found guilty of making false bomb threats at the Princess Juliana International Airport.

The threats were made on November 22, 2015.

Brian Andrew Rymer made the threats through telephone calls to the airport’s security department and 911, forcing the shutdown of all operations and traffic at and around the airport for almost six hours.
