Man charged for wounding granted bail

A man from Morvant, who was charged for wounding, was granted bail in the sum of $275,000 with surety.

29-year-old Sayyed Ali, of #01 Chrysanthemum Road, Coconut Drive, was charged with several offences: wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; possession of a firearm; possession of ammunition; possession of a firearm to endanger life; and possession of ammunition to endanger life.

The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on January 5, where a 24-year-old man was shot in the back while at Unity Lane in Carapo.

Couple granted $750,000 bail for possession of guns, ammunition and drugs

Two persons were granted bail by a Magistrate today after the police found two guns, ammunition, cocaine and marijuana in their home last Monday.

According to police reports, members of the North-Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF), spearheaded by Senior Supt. Phillip and ASP Roger Alexander executed a search warrant at a house at Agostini Street, St Joseph, around 7.30 pm on January 6th.

There, the police found and seized one Revolver, one Beretta pistol with 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 350 grammes of cocaine, and 790 grammes of marijuana.

Third YTC escapee recaptured

The third of the five juvenile detainees who escaped custody from the Youth Transformation and Rehabilitation Centre, on October 3rd 2019, was recaptured last night in Golconda.

Anthony Ramsumair, 19, was recaptured by officers of the Southern Division at Golconda Settlement, Golconda, around 10:00 pm, on January 8th.

The exercise was supervised by Sgt. Hosein of the Ste. Madeleine Police Station.

Woman shot dead in South Oropouche

Po­lice are at the scene of a mur­der in South Oropouche where a young moth­er was killed in a do­mes­tic vi­o­lence dis­pute.

At around 11 am Gabriel­la Du Bar­ry, 28, was al­leged­ly shot dead by a for­mer com­pan­ion at her home along the Fyz­abad Main Road. Eye­wit­ness­es said they heard three shots and saw a man run­ning from the house and in­to some bush­es. A sus­pect has been held for ques­tion­ing.

Three Held in La Brea with Pistol and Ammo

Three men were arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the South Western Division Area West Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in La Brea yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise around 2:00 pm on Jaunary 8th, with the assistance of the La Brea Police Station, during which they proceeded to Sobo Village, La Brea, where they observed a white Nissan B15 motor vehicle proceeding along the roadway.

Penal man held for possession of shotgun and ammunition

One man was arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Southern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in Penal yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise around 7:00 am on January 8th.

According to police reports, officers proceeded to a house at Wilson Road, Clarke Road, Penal, where they searched a vehicle which was parked on the premises.

The search resulted in officers finding one 12 gauge shotgun and 15 cartridges hidden in the vehicle.

Central Police continue crackdown on illegal weapons

Central Division police report the seizure of five illegal weapons, and an assortment of ammunition, during a police anti-crime exercise, yesterday.

The exercise was led by Senior Superintendent Hunte, Superintendent Mystar, along with ASP Smith, Sergeant Stewart, and a team from the Central Division Task Force (CDTF).

Man killed by police described as a "Psycho"

A young woman who de­cid­ed to change her life and lifestyle and leave some peo­ple who was in her life in the past as she moved on to bet­ter­ment by join­ing the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice as a Spe­cial Re­serve Po­lice of­fi­cer had her life tor­ment­ed by an ex-lover.

This ex-lover was found out to be plan­ning a plot to have her mur­dered. He was charged with shoot­ing with in­tent by po­lice last Ju­ly and was al­so a sus­pect in the killing of Joel "Hulk" Tou­s­saint, who was killed on De­cem­ber 30, 2019, at Nel­son Street in Ari­ma.

Man held with stolen vehicle in El Socorro

One man was arrested, a firearm discovered and a vehicle which was reported stolen recovered, during an anti-crime exercise conducted by officers of the San Juan Police Station in El Socorro yesterday.

According to police reports, officers acting on information, proceeded to Burke Terrace Extension, around 12:30 pm, on January 7th, where they found a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle which was reported stolen in October 2019, parked along the roadway.

A 30-year-old man of the area was arrested in connection with the find.
