An accident on the Beetham Highway, today, has left one woman dead and four injured.
The accident happened after 4 o'clock this morning when a woman driving a Nissan X-Trail—which had at least one passenger—tried to overtake a truck along the highway.
She crashed into the truck.
Multiple first responder vehicles had to come to the scene to attend to the injured.
The crash caused traffic to back up as far as Grand Bazaar.
The body of a 13-year-old boy who was reported missing has been discovered among some bushes in Cashew Gardens, Longdenville.
Police are currently on the scene.
There is as yet no reports on the cause of death.
Earlier today, police issued a statement asking for the public's help in locating Joash Pantin.
Pantin, of Cashew Gardens, Longdenville, was last seen at around 7:30 pm, December 1st.
He was reported missing to the Longdenville Police Post, on December 1st by his mother and grandmother.
Thousands of dead fishes are continuing to wash ashore on the beaches of La Brea, prompting speculation that the fishes are being dumped as a ploy to bring down fish sales.
The fishes were first spotted on Monday at Carat Shed Beach but as the week progressed they began washing up at Point Sable beach.
President of the La Brea Fisherfolk Association Alvin La Borde said most of the fishes were herrings, sardines, and mullet. He said the fishes appear to have been dumped as most of them were already past the point of decay.
Five months after remains were found in Santa Flora in December, an autopsy conducted today has confirmed that it is that of missing Freeport woman, Anita Mohammed.
The autopsy results were confirmed by an uncle of Mohammed and Head of Corporate Communications of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Ellen Lewis.

The body of Christopher Mohammed was discovered in an empty lot along Ethel Street, off Mucurapo Road in St James on Thursday night.
Mohammed, who was from Arima, was bleeding from the head.
The District Medical Officer has ordered an autopsy be performed to determine the cause of death.

Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the death of a doctor in Cunupia yesterday.
Dr Peter Pedro, 41, was found he was found with a single bullet wound to his head at his Ramkhalawan Trace, Cunupia home.
Reports indicate that residents heard an explosion around 10 am but it was only when they went looking for him later, that they discovered the doctor lying motionless in the house with a bullet wound to his head.
Police say a gun was found near to the doctor and several bottles of alcoholic drinks were also in the room.
The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) says it received reports of dead fish on the beaches of La Brea early this morning.
A statement form the EMA says that upon receipt of the report, the EMA dispatched its officers to investigate the sites, which confirmed that dead fish were observed at Carat Shed Beach and Point Sable Beach.
It says the dominant species of fish located on the shores was herring, mostly evident at Carat Shed Beach.
The fish discovered were in an advanced state of decomposition.
A motorcyclist has been killed in an accident.
Reports indicate that on Thursday, Bevon Luces of Maple Drive, Pleasantville was riding his motorcycle along the South Trunk Road, near Privé in La Romaine, when he skidded off the roadway.
He crashed into an embankment before slamming into a tree.

Some 19 people have died and 50 injured after an explosion at the Manchester Arena concert venue, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.
Witnesses reported hearing a “huge bang” at the venue during an Ariana Grande gig on Monday evening, which police quickly described as a ‘serious incident’.
