Police probe two murders, two hours apart

Homicide detectives are investigating two unrelated murders that took place in North Trinidad on Sunday night, within the space of two hours.

In the later incident, shortly after 9 pm, Derrick Valentine, 33, of Covigne Road, Diego Martin, was at his home with his family when two gunmen men stormed into the house.

The men then opened fire, shooting Valentine multiple times about the body before escaping.

Valentine was taken to the St James infirmary where he died while undergoing emergency treatment.

Police find arms and ammunition in Diego Martin

The T&T Police Service is reporting the discovery of a quantity of arms and ammunition during a Strike Back Operation in the Diego Martin district on Thursday.

According to police reports, the arms and ammunition were found in a bushy area in the Patna Village.

Triple shooting in Patna Village—one person dead

One person is dead following a triple shooting in Patna Village, Diego Martin, this morning.

According to reports, at approximately 8:20 am, three men were liming when shots were fired, killing one person and wounding two others.

Dead is 27-year-old Jonathan Abdool, also known as Chucky.

Luke Jaggassar—who goes by the alias Cripple—was shot in his leg. Another person identified only as Marcus was shot in his chest.

Triple shooting in Patna Village—one person dead

One person is dead following a triple shooting in Patna Village, Diego Martin, this morning.

According to reports, at approximately 8:20 am, three men were liming when shots were fired, killing one person and wounding two others.

Police seize eight AR15 rifles during exercise in Four Roads

Eight AR 15 high pow­ered ri­fles were dis­cov­ered dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise in the Four Roads dis­trict by of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion on Thurs­day.

The ex­er­cise su­per­vised by Snr Supt Aguilal, Supt Thomp­son and ASP Hen­ry was ex­e­cut­ed by Sgts Forde-Jack and Bris­bane and in­clud­ed of­fi­cers of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force (WDTF), West­ern Di­vi­sion Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment (WD/CID), Spe­cial Branch, WD Crime Scene Unit and Ca­nine Branch.

Suspected bandit shot dead by police in Diego Martin

Police have shot a suspected bandit dead in Diego Martin.

Reports indicate that around 4.40 pm, officers responded to a report of larceny on Sinanan Gardens.

When police responded they saw two men running down the river near St Lucien Road with what appeared to be stolen items.

One of the men pointed a firearm at the police and fired.

Police returned fire killing one of the men.

Father of police officers shot dead in Diego Martin

Police are investigating a murder in Diego Martin in which the father of two police officers was shot dead.

The murder occurred on Eligon Avenue, Diego Martin.

The victim has been identified as Charles Campbell, the father of two WPCs.

Reports indicate that the assailants came and inquired about the driver of a vehicle parked outside Campbell's home.

One of Campbell's daughter called her father who was inside the house, and as he came out of the door he was shot several times by the gunmen before they escaped.

Investigations are ongoing.

Diego Martin man reported missing

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in locating 30-year-old Derek Constance.

Constance was last seen at his Gokool Street, Diego Martin home on Sunday.

He was reported missing to the West End Police Station around 5:30 pm on Monday, by his common-law wife.

Constance is of mixed descent, 5 feet 9 inches tall, slim built, with a brown complexion and a corn-row hairstyle.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured jersey, a pair of blue ¾ pants and a pair of blue slippers.
