The dry season has officially begun

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has officially declared the start of the 2018 dry season, saying the climatic patterns and changes in features are indicative of the region having transitioned to a drier state.

It says in a statement that assessment of the criteria necessary for the onset of the dry season shows that the conditions have been met and are now entrenched.

Met Office warns of very hot days from February to April as dry season officially starts

The Met Office is warning of very hot days from mid-February to April as the dry season officially begins.

It is also warning of increasing bush fires and heat stress on crops.

The Met Office issued this statement today:

"The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) is officially declaring the start of the 2017 Dry Season.

Assessment of the criteria necessary for the onset of the Dry Season shows that the conditions have been met and are now entrenched.
