Murder in Maraval

Police are investigating the murder of a man in Maraval last evening.

According to reports shortly after 6 pm a man identified only by his alias "Porky" got into an altercation with another man at unity street, Maraval.

During the fracas, "Porky" was dealt a stab to his chest.

The police were contacted and upon arrival discovered the man lying in a pool of blood, he was pronounced dead on the scene.

 

Maraval man charged with murder

Rodger Holder, aka ‘Ras’, ‘Bobo’ and ‘Masman’, who is charged with murder and the kidnapping of a teenager, which occurred on Tuesday 24th October, 2017, is due to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate tomorrow, to answer to the charges.

He also faces additional charges of possession of firearm and ammunition, escaping lawful custody and attempted suicide.

Police need help to identify woman's body found in Maraval two weeks ago

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in identifying the body of a woman, which was discovered on Thursday 24th May, 2018, along Morne Coco Road, Maraval.

The body is that of a woman of mixed descent, light brown complexion, medium built, approximately 5 feet 8 inches, in the early thirties, with naturally long dark hair and healthy teeth.

The body was discovered by CEPEP workers who were working along the roadway around 9:30 am on the said date.

Another murder - 22-year-old shot dead in Maraval

Police are investigating yet another murder, the third between last night and this morning.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Kadeem Critchlow of Le Platte Village, Maraval.

Critchlow was found around 9:30 am on Monday in a dirt track off Le Platte Road with several gunshot wounds about his body.

Residents reported that 11 pm Sunday, they had heard several loud explosions but it was only this morning they discovered Critchlow’s body.

This follows two murders in Claxton Bay and at the Cipriani Boulevard branch of MacDonald's last night. 

 

Le Platte man arrested after gun, ammunition found in home

One man was arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of the Carenage Police Station in the Maraval district yesterday.

The exercise, spearheaded by Insp (Ag.) Godfrey Vincent, including officers of the Carenage CID, Four Roads CID, the Western Division Task Force (WDTF) and Court and Process Branch, was conducted between 4 am and 8 am on Thursday.

The officers proceeded to Le Platte Village, Maraval, where they executed a search warrant at the home of a 21-year-old man.

Triple-murder as drive-by killers spray bullets at Le Platte group

Three out of five people shot in Le Platte Village, Maraval, have died.

Collin "Circle Boy" Letren, 25, Kuanda "Bag Up" Critchlow, 24, and Joel 'Joe Dog" Le Platte, 35 were fatally shot in a drive-by shooting late Thursday evening.

The three were liming with a group in a track stemming from the Morne Coco Road, when a blue B-14 vehicle drove up, slowed down and an occupant opened fire with a automatic weapon, sparying bullets into the group.

Two women, Dayna and Dominique Le Platte were also hit but were warded last night in satisfactory conditions.

23-year-old Maraval man missing

Police are seeking the urgent assistance of the public in locating 23-year-old Shawndell Gloden.

Shawndell, of Fatima Trace, Paramin, Maraval was last seen at the corner of Nicholas Street and Morne Coco Road, Maraval, at around 1:30pm on Friday 10th March, 2017.

He was reported missing to the Maraval Police Station at 1:20pm on Tuesday 14th March, 2017, by his mother, Debra De Verteuil.

Shawndell is of mixed descent and is 5 feet 7 inches tall. 

Water disruptions in Maraval

The Water and Sewerage Authority is advising of water shortages in several parts of Maraval as a result of problems at the Maraval Water Treatment Plant.

WASA issued this statement today.

"The Water and Sewerage Authority (‘The Authority”) advises customers in parts of North West Trinidad, served by the Maraval Water Treatment Plant who have been experiencing services interruptions and low pressures that this is as a result of the reduced production over time from wells located in the Moka Wellfield, Maraval.
