Two wounded following gun play

Two men were shot and wounded on Thursday morning in Morvant.
According to a police report, shortly after midnight on Thursday, residents of the area heard several gunshots.
The police officers, who were called to the scene, found both wounded men bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds about their respective bodies.
The men were taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where they were treated and warded in serious conditions.
Investigations are continuing. 

Man held for St James food vendor murder

A man has been detained in connection to a shooting incident which claimed the life of food vendor in St James.

According to police reports, around 8 last evening a gunman walked up to the owner of the Grill King burger cart along the Western Main Road in St James and opened fire on him, at point blank range.

The victim has since been identified as Neil Dwarika of Bournes Road, St James.

Murder in Belmont

The murder count continues to rise, following a murder in Belmont early this morning

Police say 23 year-old Shakeem Roberts was liming on some steps in the area at about 12:30 this morning, when a gunman approached, shot him, and then ran away.

Roberts died on the spot.

Investigations continue.

Police probe two murders, two hours apart

Homicide detectives are investigating two unrelated murders that took place in North Trinidad on Sunday night, within the space of two hours.

In the later incident, shortly after 9 pm, Derrick Valentine, 33, of Covigne Road, Diego Martin, was at his home with his family when two gunmen men stormed into the house.

The men then opened fire, shooting Valentine multiple times about the body before escaping.

Valentine was taken to the St James infirmary where he died while undergoing emergency treatment.

Murder in Pinto, Arima

A shooting in Arima has left one man dead.

CNC3 News understands at around 9 p.m. last night Kevin 'Pencil' Lochan was gunned down along Punette Avenue, Pinto, Arima.

Police say Lochan was celebrating his birthday at a lime in the area, when a silver wagon pulled up and the occupants opened fire.

He died on the spot.

Police say Lochan was well-known to them.

PH taxi driver murdered in Tobago – Murder victim #8

Tobago Homicide Officers are probing the circumstances surrounding the island's eighth murder for 2019.

Dead is 40-year-old Dean O'Neil, a PH Taxi Driver of Delaford, Tobago.

According to police reports, shortly after 1am on Thursday, O'Neil was driving his red Mitsubishi Lancer motor vehicle, and had turned onto a trace off Canaan Feeder Road, when he was shot by a line gunman.

Neighbours say they heard several shots and on checking, he was found slumped behind the steering wheel.

Tobago sees 8th murder for 2019

Tobago has recorded its 8th murder for the year.

CNC3 News understands that the victim—Dean O’Neil—was killed while on his way home.

Preliminary reports suggest that he was turning onto the Canaan Feeder Road in his red Mitsubishi Lancer when shots were fired at his vehicle.

He reportedly died at the scene.

Man shot on Diego Martin Main Road

One man is nursing gunshot wounds following a shooting incident on the Diego Martin Main Road on Thursday.

Gunmen opened fire on a man known to police as 'Blacka'.

Investigators told Guardian Media that just after midday a white Nissan X-Trail drove out of La Puerta Avenue and shot at the victim standing on the Western Main Road.

The victim ran in a westerly direction and was pursued by the gunman who alighted from the vehicle and shot several times.

Drive-by shooting in Cocorite

A 26-year-old Cocorite man was shot several times while driving his car along the Western Main Road in Cocorite.

Investigators told Guardian Media that the man was driving west along the Western Main Road in his Nissan Note vehicle around 10:45 am when a car pulled alongside him and a gunman opened fire.

The assailants then sped off.

The man was rushed to the St James Medical Health facility where he was treated.

Police say they have not been able to establish a motive for the shooting.

Close call for students in Belmont drive-by shooting

Three students were treated for injuries and mental trauma, after a drive-by shooting on Belmont Circular Road Wednesday afternoon.

Two of the injured, aged 6 and 15, were the children of a known gang leader.

They were rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The shooting took place outside the Providence High School around 2.40 pm, less than 200 metres from the Belmont Police Station. 

An 18-year-old student was shot in her leg.
