56-year-old woman becomes latest Swine Flu victim

The Swine Flu virus has claimed yet another victim, this time a 56-year-old woman who has been warded at the Sangre Grande Hospital.

The confirmation comes from the Ministry of Health, which issued the following statement today:

"The Ministry of Health notes with sadness the passing of 56 year old Seedaye Ramkissoon, a patient of the Sangre Grande Hospital who passed away following a seventeen (17) day stay in the Intensive Care Unit due to complications that arose from a combination of hypertension and H1N1 Influenza.

The country has recorded yet another death from Swine Flu.

The confirmation comes from a media statement issued by the Ministry of Health, as it seeks to remind citizens to exercise precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.

Health Ministry awaits final autopsy report in suspected Swine Flu death

The Minstry of Health is awaiting a final autopsy report to determine if 28-year-old Stacy Ramkissoon died of the H1N1 or Swine Flu virus.

The Ministry issued a statement this morning on the matter, saying that although preliminary reports have linked Ramkissoon's death to Swine Flu, it will be guided by the final report.
