Syringes on El Dorado pavement create concern

Several syringes strewn on a pavement along the Eastern Main Road in El Dorado are creating a stir among residents and passersby.

The syringes are part of a pile of garbage outside of the location of a medical business that is in the process of moving out.

Some of the syringes appear to still have some liquid in them and many remain uncapped with needles exposed.

NCRHA launches investigation into discovery of blood samples, syringes on roadside

The North-Central Regional Health Authority has launched an investigation into the discovery of blood samples and syringes found at the roadside in Mount Hope.

The NCRHA says it cannot understand how the bio-hazardous material got there.

The following is a statement from the NCRHA:

"Firstly, we would like to express our thanks to Ms. Deniece Jones for bringing the matter to our urgent attention via Facebook.

Facebook post apparently shows blood samples, syringes thrown on roadside

We took this post from Deniece Jones' Facebook page.

Deniece says, "So had to make an 'emergency' stop for one of the kids and ended up pulling up next to this just after the roundabout on the southbound lane after the Mount Hope Hospital.

"Isn't there protocol for this?!! I have no idea who to alert for this..and worse the needles are still attached and names recorded on the vials."

The photo appears to show blood samples in vials and needles thrown out.

CNC3 has reached out to health officials for a response, which we will bring to you as soon as we get it.
