Favourites West Indies failed in their bid to put the finishing touches on an otherwise successful campaign as memeses Afghanistan trounced them by seven wickets yesterday to lift the ICC World Cup Qualifiers trophy.

Hoping for revenge in the final at Harare Sports Club after two losses in the competition to the Asian side, West Indies never mounted a serious challenge, dismissed for 204 and then watching as Afghanistan strolled to their target with nearly 10 overs remaining.

Yello Media, a digital and print advertiser, signed a new three year partnership designed to create community support, commerce, and engagement through  cricket, a CPL media release said.

 The West Indies suffered a humiliating 53-run defeat in its world cup warm-up match against Afghanistan this morning.

In a 35-over match, the afghans posted 163 for nine from its allotment.

Estwick moved from Windies to Windies A

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed in a media release that bowling coach Roddy Estwick has been moved from his post. It was first reported by the Trinidad Guardian on Tuesday.

WI announce separate contracts

Cricket West Indies has introduced a new system of different contracts for Test and limited-overs international players, effective from July 1. The system will have three categories: all-format contracts, red-ball contracts, and white-ball contracts.

Only five players - Jason Holder, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Devendra Bishoo - have been contracted for all formats, while six have been given red-ball contracts and five others white-ball contracts.
