Teen arrested for possession of 2 pistol magazines

A 15-year-old boy from San Juan was arrested by North Eastern Division police yesterday, after he allegedly was found with two new extended pistol magazines.

A 15-year-old boy from San Juan was arrested by North Eastern Division police yesterday, after he allegedly was found with two new extended pistol magazines.

According to official police reports, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force (NEDTF) conducted a stop and search exercise between the hours of 6 pm and 8 pm in the San Juan area on Tuesday 5 January 2021.

The Police Service says the officers received information which led them to Sunshine Avenue, San Juan, around 6:45 pm.

At that location, a suspect was arrested for possession of a firearm with two pistol magazines.

The exercise was spearheaded by Snr Supt Winston Maharaj and Supt Roger Alexander, coordinated by Insp Bharath and Ag Supt Quashie. It was supervised by Ag Cpl Majeed and included PCs Dass, Mieres Eastman, Hyde, Nanan and other officers of the North Eastern Division.

Investigations are ongoing.
