Ten arrested for breach of public health regulations, seven for construction

A total of ten persons were arrested over the last 24 hours for breach of the Public Health Regulations.

According to police reports, in the first incident, seven men were arrested and charged in Freeport when they were allegedly observed performing construction duties. All seven were granted station bail and are expected to appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court on August 16th.

In the other incident, three men were arrested and charged in Barataria, Aranguez and El Socorro (North Eastern Division) when they were found to be consuming alcohol in a public place.

The exercise in Freeport was coordinated by Snr Supt Curt Simon, Supt Pierre, Insp Ramsumair, and supervised by Cpl. Umaid, while the exercise in the North Eastern Division was coordinated by Ag. Insp Daniel and supervised by Ag.Sgt Murray and Ag.Sgt Pierre. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service continues to urge citizens to adhere to the Emergency Powers and Public Health Regulations.
