Ten people succumbed to COVID-19 between Friday evening and yesterday—the highest number of fatalities for September.

To date, 1,451 of the 49,822 people who tested positive for COVID-19 since the virus arrived in T&T on March 12, 2020, have died while 44,066 recuperated.

The Ministry of Health reported 134 new cases over the last 24-hour reporting period, taking the active case count to 4,305, an increase of 35 people, compared to Friday’s figure.

The number of people hospitalised with the disease stood at 291, just two less than Friday. There were 143 people in State quarantine, 74 people in step-down facilities and 3,806 in self-isolation at their homes.

To date, 343,953 people got tested for COVID-19, with 195,683 done in the public healthcare system and 148,270 done privately.

The Ministry did not report any changes to vaccination figures yesterday as Friday’s total of 475,896 people with completed vaccinations remained the same.

The total number of people with one shot of the two-dose vaccine also remained at 565,940.
