Construction workers carrying out work at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital on Wednesday got quite a shock when they dug up skeletal remains.

The discovery was made around midday at the western side of the hospital compound where construction is currently ongoing.

The employees notified the police, and the bones were seized.

Police said the bones were taken to the Forensic Science Centre in St James to undergo testing to determine whether the bones are in fact human or animal.
