Jesse Daniel, a 27-year-old man, of Crown Trace Enterprise, will appear before the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court tomorrow charged with manslaughter.
According to police reports, on February 25th, 28-year-old Vicky Baldeo of Crown Trace Enterprise was struck down by an oncoming vehicle in his attempt to escape being further beaten by three men.
Mr Baldeo died on February 28th.
The accused, Jesse Daniel, subsequently surrendered to police at the Chaguanas Police Station on June 10th after months of evading arrest by the Homicide detectives.
Detective Corporal Phillip laid the charge following consultations held with the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Joan Honore-Paul. The two other suspects, Akiel Smith and Warren John were previously arrested and charged with manslaughter. Investigations were conducted by officers of the Homicide Bureau Region Three Office, spear-headed by Inspector Figaro, under the supervision of Superintendent Dhillpaul.
