Three persons were arrested for possession of a firearm and ammunition, and 22 tickets were issued for various road traffic violations, during a road traffic exercise yesterday.
The exercise was conducted by members of the Traffic Branch, Road Policing Task Force (RPTF), and officers from the motorcycle section. In the first instance, ten tickets were issued while officers were conducting an exercise on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, St Augustine.

Driving with Unauthorized lights – 1 person
Driving with defective tyres – 4 persons
Driving without Certificate of Insurance – 5 persons
In the second instance, while officers were working on the Uriah
Butler Highway, Bamboo Settlement, 12 tickets were issued as
follows:
Driving without Certificate of Insurance- 1 person
Driving with Defaced number plate – 1 person
Driving with defective tyres – 2 persons
Driving without no identification plate lights – 8 persons
The three persons who were arrested for possession of a Glock 22 pistol and ammunition, are from Hermitage Settlement, San Fernando, Cane Street, Vistabella, and Hermitage Village, La Romain. The exercise was supervised by Cpl Harrylal and coordinated by Cpl Griffith and Cpl Olivier.
