A woman and two men have been charged for larceny offences in three separate incidents. Tristan Springer and Negel Maynard were charged with assault
with intent to rob. They appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie
yesterday at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court.

In a separate incident a 25-year old Laventille man was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a woman’s cell phone from her while she was standing at the corner of George Street and Independence Square.

A woman and three men were arrested for larceny offences in three separate incidents that occurred over the last two weeks. The woman and two of the men were subsequently charged.

TRISTAN SPRINGER and NEGEL MAYNARD were charged with assault
with intent to rob in relation to an incident that occurred in Freeport on
January 27th, 2022. They appeared before Magistrate Adrian Darmanie
yesterday at the Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court.

Springer was remanded into custody and Maynard was granted $200,000 bail with a surety and placed under a curfew from 10 pm to 5 am. She was also ordered to sign in at the St. Joseph Police Station. The matter was postponed to March 1st, 2022.


KEVIN NICKIE, 42, a labourer from Indian Walk, Moruga was charged with robbery with violence following an incident that occurred on January 11th, 2022 in Barrackpore. He is scheduled to appear at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court today.

A 25-year old Laventille man was also arrested yesterday in Port of Spain. Officers of the Central Police Station were on mobile patrol along George
Street when they were approached by a woman who indicated that a man
had allegedly grabbed her cell phone from her while she was standing at
the corner of George Street and Independence Square. The man was
arrested and the phone was recovered after he was searched. Enquiries
are continuing.
