An Anti-Crime Exercise conducted yesterday in the Northern Division has resulted in three persons being arrested, and the seizure of one round of 12-gauge cartridge, camouflage clothing and an army jacket and trousers.

An official statement from the TTPS explains that during the exercise, officers executed a search warrant at a house in Hilltop Drive, Maturita Extension, Arima, where the items were found and seized, and the two male occupants of the house at the time of the search were arrested.

At La Retreat Road, Arima, the third man was arrested when officers executed a warrant. He was arrested on enquiries relative to a robbery that he confessed to committing in September 2019.

Investigations are ongoing.

The exercise—which was conducted in the Arima District on Tuesday 21 January—was supervised by Inspector Birch, Sgts Robinson-Mottley and Mascall, and included a party of officers from Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Northern Division Task Force (NDTF) Area East, Northern Division Crime Suppression Unit and Municipal Police.
