Three T&T Defence Force personnel and a police officer were among 44 revellers that were held, as police busted an illegal “zesser” party in La Horquetta yesterday morning.

According to a press release issued by the T&T Police Service (TTPS), officers of the La Horquetta Police Station received reports of a party in progress at Cordia Crescent.

On arrival, the officers reportedly heard loud music and saw a large group of persons.

Several patrons managed to run away upon seeing the officers, while the rest were rounded up.

The group was then reportedly made to walk to the police station under the supervision of the officers.

They were then processed and allowed to leave as they would be charged for breach of the regulations via summons.

Breach of the regulations, which precludes the holding of parties and public gatherings of groups of more than ten persons, carries a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to six months in prison.

The exercise was coordinated by Insp Ward and conducted by PCs Tewarie, George, and WPC Gibson.
