Three Venezuelan women were among eight people arrested after police found a shotgun in a car during a patrol in the Central Division.
A report said officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and the Freeport Police Station went to Nelson Road, Freeport, around 2.45 pm after receiving information regarding a vehicle.
They stopped a white Nissan AD wagon with eight occupants.
The vehicle was searched and a firearm appearing to be a homemade shotgun was allegedly found.
The 42-year-old driver, of Carapichaima, along with four men and three female Venezuelan nationals were arrested and taken to the Freeport Police Station.
Investigations are continuing.
