Assistant Chief Fire Officer-Tobago Division David Joseph -Thomas is giving the assurance that the operations of the A.N.R Robinson International Airport and surrounding areas are unaffected by the self-quarantining of fire officers attached to the Crown Point station.
He said the officers were sent home after one officer at the station tested positive for COVID-19 on December 3.

” We sent the 114 officers on self-quarantine out of an abundance of caution. We had an entirely new bunch of people going in to take over the station because we understand the implications …of not having the fire and safety coverage you need to have at an airport,” the Joseph-Thomas told Guardian Media on Friday.

“Before this situation happened, we put mitigation measures in place to sanitize. A team of officers began to sanitize all the equipment and stations. We have all the checks and balances in place to address a situation like this,” he told Guardian Media.
” The operations at Crown Point are normal. Everything is going as planned,” the senior fire officer said.
