Tobago man charged with 2020 murder

A Tobago man has been charged with the murder of a victim who was shot in 2019 but died in 2020.

A Tobago man has been charged with the murder of a victim who was shot in 2019 but died in 2020.

The Police Service confirms the murder charge was laid against JAMEEL LEGALL on Thursday 21st January 2021, following the advice of Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC.

27-year-old LEGALL, of Bay Hill, Glamorgan, Tobago, was previously charged with attempted murder, relative to the Saturday 9th November 2019 shooting of KENNETH JACK.  However, JACK succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday 27th October 2020, at the Scarborough General Hospital.

Extensive enquiries were conducted by officers of the Homicide Region One Office under the supervision of Acting Senior Superintendent Vena Butler.

On Sunday 17th January 2021, members of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and officers of the Tobago Division embarked on an operation at Bay Hill, Glamorgan, where they arrested LEGALL, relative to the homicide of KENNETH JACK.

LEGALL is expected to appear in a virtual hearing at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court today, to answer to the charge.
