A Tobago man currently is warded at hospital nursing a gunshot wound, following a robbery at Mt. Irvine, Tobago.

The victim has been identified as Jloni Redman of Crown Point.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at a party at Jacamar Drive, Mt. Irvine, around 4am on Sunday.

We are told, Redman and a friend were driving in a Mitsubishi Lancer vehicle along the Jacamar Drive, when they were flagged down and approached by two men.

One of the men reportedly pointed a gun at Redman and his friend and they sped off. The vehicle crashed a short distance away.

Guardian Media understands that Redman and his friend exited the vehicle, but they were chased and shot at by the gunman. They ran into the party seeking cover, but when the gunman caught up to them, he shot Redman in the leg and left the scene.

Redman was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital via an EHS Ambulance. He is now warded and said to be in a stable condition.

We are told that the two assailants allegedly were robbing patrons at gunpoint outside the party, taking cash, jewellery, cell phones and other valuables.

No one has been held in connection with the incident.

Shirvan Road Police are continuing investigations.
