Tobago records first case of Covid-19

In a press release issued today the THA Secretary of Health, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, announced that at 5:30 pm today the first positive case of Covid-19 was recorded in Tobago.

According to reports the individual is a resident of Trinidad and arrived in Tobago on an international flight on March 18th.

The individual was screened by the Port Health Authorities at the ANR Robinson Airport and was immediately placed under quarantine.

Five days later the Trinidad national developed symptoms and was admitted to the Scarborough Hospital. A sample was taken and sent to CARPHA and the results returned positive.

The individual who will be transported to Trinidad is said to be unwell and in need of additional treatment.
