Toco man arrested for illegal weapon possession

A twenty-year-old Toco man is now in police custody following his arrest on Saturday, for illegal weapon possession.

According to official police reports, the man—a resident of Anglias Road, Cumana—was arrested during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Toco Police District, by officers of the Toco Police Station, supervised by Sgt Calender and Cpl Babwah.

Reports are that during the exercise, officers went to cultivate land at the aforementioned address, when they saw the suspect with a homemade shot gun and seven rounds of 16-gauge cartridges ammunition.

Further checks revealed that he was not in possession of either a Firearm User’s License or a certificate.

The suspect was arrested, and the items seized.

Inquiries are continuing.
