Roland La Rosa, a 30-year-old man of Montevideo Toco, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, during a roving road check exercise yesterday.
According to police reports, based on information received, officers proceeded to St. John Village, Toco. The officers came upon a wooden makeshift camp, covered with a black tarpaulin.
The officers searched and found a 30-year-old man allegedly tending to a quantity of dried marijuana amounting to 45 pounds, with an estimated street value of $90,000.
The marijuana was then seized and the suspect was taken into custody and conveyed to the Toco Police Station. PC Singh then arrested and charged Roland La Rosa for the offence. He is expected to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrate Court today.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Aguilal and supervised by Cpl Tyson.
