A new Board of Directors has been elected to helm the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce (T&T Chamber), following the Chamber’s Annual Meeting today, Thursday 22nd April 2021.

An official statement from the T&T Chamber notes that the meeting was held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions and as allowed in the company’s by-laws.

The new Board, which was elected to serve a one-year term over 2021-2022, will be headed by Charles Pashley, who will serve a one-year term as President, working alongside Chief Executive Officer Gabriel Faria, and Chief Operations Officer, Michelle Gonsalves-Suite.

Mr. Pashley has over 25 years management experience which includes food retail, restaurant management, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain and has worked with a major international accounting and auditing firm. Currently, he is the Chief Strategy Officer at ANSA McAl. He also has held positions as the CEO and Director at Prestige Holdings Limited and Smith Robertson and Company Limited.  Mr. Pashley is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad and Tobago (CA) and is PROSCI Certified.

Immediate past President, Reyaz Ahamad, Executive Director of Southern Sales and Service Co Limited, will be serving on the Board of Directors as one of three Directors Ex Officio. 

Managing Director of Carib Glassworks Limited, David Hadeed, was re-elected to the Board of Directors, having served a previous term.  For the period 2021–2022, Mr Hadeed will serve as one of three Vice-Presidents on the T&T Chamber board.  The other two Vice-Presidents are Managing Director of Caribbean Lifestyle Communications, Kiran Maharaj, and General Manager of Republic Bank’s Corporate & Investment Banking Division, Karen Yip Chuck.

First time board member is Sacha Thompson, co-founder and CEO of The Customer Experience Company Ltd. (EXCO), a company she started three years ago based on her passion for and understanding of the importance of customer experience, as a key differentiator and growth driver for businesses.
