This country has received a donation of a HUAWEI IdeaHub from the People’s Republic of China. Minister of National Security Fitzgerald Hinds received the equipment from the Chinese Ambassador at a brief handover ceremony held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Maraval, Port of Spain today.
During the ceremony Minister Hinds “expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the provision of the equipment, stating that the device will facilitate greater interconnectivity between Ministry stakeholders and assist with the hosting of virtual meetings and video conferences.”

Minister of National Security the Honourable Fitzgerald Hinds M.P. received a donation of a HUAWEI IdeaHub on Friday November 19, 2021 on behalf of the Ministry of National Security, from the People’s Republic of China.
Minister Hinds was presented with the equipment by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Trinidad and Tobago His Excellency Fang Qiu, at a brief handover ceremony held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Maraval, Port of Spain.
Minister Hinds expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the provision of the equipment, stating that the device will facilitate greater interconnectivity between Ministry stakeholders and assist with the hosting of virtual meetings and video conferences.
Both the Minister and the Ambassador noted that the donation was an example of the longstanding bilateral relationship and historical cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and the People’s Republic of China.
Minister Hinds and His Excellency Fang Qiu also welcomed the opportunity to further collaboration in the areas of law enforcement and public safety.
Also in attendance were Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of National Security Ms. Nataki Atiba-Dilchan and Deputy Director, International Affairs Unit, Ministry of National Security, Major (Ret’d) Richard Lynch.
