TTMS: Hazardous Seas Alert Discontinued

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has lowered their alert level from yellow to green, discontinuing their Hazardous Seas Alert for Trinidad and Tobago Saturday night.

According to the TTMS, “Strong winds associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Gonzalo no longer have any influence on the sea conditions in our area. Hazardous seas are no longer observed around the coastal and offshore waters of Trinidad and Tobago. Seas are currently moderate in open waters (near 2.0 m ) and less than 1.0 m in sheltered areas.”

They are advising the public to remain cautious when entering the sea and monitor official sources for information.

Tropical Storm Gonzalo moved across Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday, producing localized wind damage across both islands and street flooding along the East-West corridor.
