Two accused of home invasion in court

One man was remanded into custody while another was granted $750,000 bail on robbery charges stemming from a home invasion.

Richard Ramlal, 28, of Pond Street, La Romaine and Kevon Parson, 25, also known as Devon Mangatal, of Jagessar Street, La Romaine appeared virtually before San Fernando Senior Magistrate Indrani Cedeno.

They were charged with three counts of robbery with aggravation.

The incident on October 19.

It is alleged that three men entered a home at Seepaul Development, La Romaine and robbed a man, his wife and son at gunpoint.

The man was also beaten. They robbed the family of a Kia Sportage, a Ford Ranger, two cellphone, cash, jewellery and several other items.

Police recovered some of the items including the Kia Sportage.

Parson was denied bail because he pending matters of a similar nature.

Court rosecutor Cleyon Seedan objected to bail for both men because of the prevalence and seriousness of the offence.

However, Ramlal was granted $75,000 approval bail.

He was ordered to stay away from the victims and report to the police station three times a week.

The matter was adjourned to November 18.
